Landscapes
Issue Two: Luminal Landscapes explores world and self, memory and present, the literal and the psychic. In English and Spanish, our writers map the overlooked spaces that shape us, and make them visible on the page.

Our Emerging Writers section is where we spotlight three new voices we’re excited about. This is an invitation to read someone early, before the world catches up. We’re proud to help amplify these writers and to place their work in conversation with the current issue.
Who We Are
rhizomag publishes work that moves through liminal terrain—the shifting landscapes of place, memory, and inner life. We are drawn to the overlooked and the intimate. The backyard that still remembers, the street corner where something once happened, the emotional and psychic geographies we carry with us.
Inspired by principles of reciprocity, endurance, and interconnectedness, the journal cultivates a literary community where stories are allowed to be porous and in motion. We welcome work that holds both the sheltered and the exposed. The tender, the muddy, the unruly. We want sorrow and rage alongside pleasure and joy, and writing that leans into specificity, where meaning emerges through the exact and the lived.
